MY DIRTY LITTLE SECRET - MATERNITY TOP

Happy Friday everyone! Yesterday while I was looking through my closet, I had a really fun idea and little secret of mine to share with you. Have you guys ever found yourself going to a store and finding a cute shirt that is too big or in the maternity section? Do you have a favorite pregnancy shirt that you absolutely love in your dark, scary and lonely closet? Haha, I DO!!!!
I remember the first time I  saw this shirt. I thought I went to heaven. I found it at Ross! I killed two birds with one stone!!  I bought it in a heart beat and wore it a billion times throughout my pregnacy. After I had my son, Logan,  I hung it in the closet and thought to myself,  hasta la vista baby, or so long until my next pregnacy. Ah ah........ this little creative mama found the way to bring it out of the dark closet. Doesnt it look fabulous?? Would you ever imagine that this is a medium size maternity shirt?  Shhhhhhhhh i'm about to reveal my secret.

I want to show you how you can still wear that shirt you love with one simple trick! It is so simple that I'm sure by the end of this post you are going to think, ha? Was that it? Yes, it is a very simple technique that I have been using for the past year.
 Ready, drums rolling......................................Here we go!!!

Top: Unique Spectrum (Ross)  //  White Capri shorts: New York  & Company

Shoes: ADAX ( Bogotá, Colombia)

Again losing my balance. I guess is time to put those boring flats away now that Logan is walking.

Glasses: Ray-Ban (Sunglass Hut) // Earrings: (Macy's)

Bracelet: Zales // Ring: Bought it in a boutique at the Boca Raton Resort and Club, Florida

Belt: Absolutely Fresh by Prestige  // Watch: Michael Kors (Nordstrom)

Here is my maternity shirt without the belt. Big belly...I gained 72 pounds.

Time to reveal my secret! Find your waist and start pinching your shirt to the center of your back, until it looks like this. Remove a little fabric from the sides so it will not look extremely too tight and you have room to move and breathe. Now find a mediun size safety pin and wala!!!!

Time to put the belt on to hide the safety pin

Mission accomplished!

I know what you are thinking, you are probably going to go back to that plastic container where you are storing all of your pregnancy treasures and try my trick. I promise it works and no one ever asks me if I'm wearing a pregnancy shirt, in the contrary, sometimes I receive compliments! So how about when you go shopping and cant find a cute shirt in your size but bigger? Ha now you know what to do! BE creative, BE adventurous, BE stylish, BUY IT! Now you know my dirty little secret and you will be surprised to see how you don't need to break the BANK and can still wear some of your pregnancy shirts that you love. After all, everyone  will think you just bought a new shirt and you have a brand new look!!

Do you have a dirty little fashion secret that you would like to share with me? I would love to hear from you and challenge you to look in your closet and play around with your clothes. I promise I will share your technique and make you my fashion HERO!
Remember... “Girls do not dress for boys. They dress for themselves, and of course, each other" You can still look gorgeous, beautiful and sexy being modest!
I love my friend Kimberly's post that she did on why she chooses to dress modestly.
HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND FRIENDS!!

  3. Hello ladies, Thank you so much for your comments. This has been a secret of mine for the past two years and it has saved me a lot of money! Too bad I was so excited to show my secret to my husband, worst decision I've ever made. Every time I tell him a need a new shirt he tells me: look at your maternity clothe, you are clever and I'm sure you can figure something out, ugh!

Hint: I noticed that this technique works best with materials like silk and 100% polyester.

Hope to see more of your comments and thank you for following me! Nite nite
